Desmonde Whitelaw

Desmonde lived for 2 years at and around Arcosanti, a prototype pedestrian city in Arizona based on the principals of simplicity, miniaturization, complexity, and duration. She apprenticed at the Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems in Austin Texas, and is currently completing the curriculum for living with Landmark Education, a worldwide communication forum. Desmonde joined Chrysalis in October 2003. Desmonde is currently also working with the Phoenix Voyage, an ecological hub organization based in Shasta, as a bridge and vehicle for Chrysalis. She is an avid permaculturist, working with earth based building materials and promotes earth friendly products. Desmonde is dedicated to the arts of community and efficiency. She has written articles about how to bring efficiency and flow into daily life. In other aspects, Desmonde allows her body to be used as a vehicle for performance pieces which express the ideas and thoughts of a new paradigm. She challenges herself by attending Challenge day events at local Public Schools. She is working to design curriculum involving empowerment of Children in fun and creative ways, as well as healing the earth through eco-architechture and engineering programs. www.phoenixvoyage.com
