Web Design: Website strucuture
 

The website is structure to give maximum effectiveness in showing our main assets: the performances and events we participate in. Here's is the main layout, with comments at each level:

Site - main site folder

Library - folder containing items used throughout the side

Multimedia - folder containing extra multimedia files that don't easily fit anywhere else (i.e. like pics related to an event)

Old - old files of all sorts (put stuff there if you're not sure you want to delete it)

OriginalSite - files from the original site from two years ago

Pages - all the pages and other files of the current website (basically every main section page has an associated folder -- which may or may not be in use at this time)

Bookings - files for the bookings section

Chrysalis - files for the children's education team

Community - files related to the MFC community, family, and website

Ideascape - files related to Paradox's repository for useful literature!

Lists - pages related to the email lists (for people to know how to subscribe, etc.

Projects - pages related to various projects (burning man, watercar, circus retreat, etc)

Webdesign - pages related to the design of the site

OldBulletinBoard - old bulletin board from an early version of the website. Accessible from the new bulletin board as a link

commbuilding.html - page about community building from a burner

conspirers.html - page about the people the MFC is related to

donate.html - page for people to make donations

land.html - page about conscious land that we know about

manifesto.html - page containing Paradox's manifesto for the MFC

oldnews.html - old news items. Add "new" old news item (taken from the home page) and put them there so that people can see them even after they become old news

responsibilities.html - page containing the responsibilities for various roles in the MFC, including the Uber-Communicator

Contact - files for the contact section

Events - contains the folders for each event or performance (basically each event folder has one or more of main event pages -- gallery.htm, info.htm, sounds.htm, comments.htm, etc -- and either the main photo album folders -- images, pages, thumbnails -- or one folder for each photographers containing the photo album folders)

Family - files for the family section, or folders for individuals with many files

Gallery - files for the photos section and the home page slide show

Info - files for the info section

Offerings - files for the offerings section (marketing material, etc)

Reviews - files for the reviews section
