i didn't think that you were completely off base, but that by omitting the obscene
behavior by the LAPD and disappointment by some, that you were omitting part
of the story. it's wonderful to celebrate what was saved, but i think that it's also
necessary to voice alarm at police tactics - they came in during tai-chi: this was
no normal "rave" that they had to break up, and disappointment that it was shut
down, in general.
this should be a land where people can freely congregate, celebrate, express
themselves. sometimes it is. many times it isn't.
whatever happened, in whatever form it prevailed, the circus and its participants
are an inspiration. and i might as well say it here, as well, because i feel it
strongly: twist, your writing, perspective, and voice are also inspiring, and
enormously appreciated.
